A rat in West Baltimore has become an unexpected media star, after running through a local Fox TV reporter's live shot as she discussed President Donald Trump labeling the city a "rat and rodent infested mess" in a recent Tweet.
Fox 45 Baltimore reporter Maxine Streicher was engaged in a live broadcast from the city's Sandtown-Winchester neighborhood on Monday when the camera panned over to an alley just as a rat scurried out from under trash and along a wall. The live shot prompted widespread mockery from supporters of the president who touted the video as "proof" the president was correct in telling Maryland's 7th District Democratic congressman Elijah Cummings via Twitter to "clean up this very dangerous & filthy place."

President Trump is yet again being called a "racist" by the leftstream media, Democrats, and some Republicans.  It all started when Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) gained the president's attention with comments about our Southern border and border agents. Trump responded, quite reasonably it seemed to me, that Cummings should look at his own district, of which Baltimore is part.

Authorities arrested US Coast Guard Lt. Christopher Paul Hasson "last week on weapons and drugs charges." The motion for pretrial detention revealed horrific details like how intended "to murder innocent civilians on a scale rarely seen in this country." The federal prosecutors described him as a "domestic terrorist" and "white nationalist" who kept a hit list of journalists and Democratic lawmakers.

On Wednesday night, a man in Baltimore shouted, "Heil Hitler, Heil Trump" during a production of Fiddler on the Roof. When reports came out, outlets like Mediaite and The New York Post referred to the man as a President Donald Trump supporter. I scoured previous reports and most of them buried this simple fact: The drunk man hates Trump.

The Baltimore police officers who are suing State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby for maliciously investigating and defaming them when she criminally charging them over the death of Freddie Gray while he was in police custody have appealed the 4th Circuit’s dismissal of their case to the US Supreme Court, according to the Baltimore Sun. A copy of the officers' petition for certiorari to the US Supreme Court is embedded at the bottom of this post. In addition, you can find my extensive coverage of the Freddie Gray cases over at Legal Insurrection by clicking here.

I'm so old, I remember when two partisan gerrymandering cases in the Supreme Court -- one from Wisconsin and one from Maryland -- were on just about everyone's list of blockbuster cases this term, including Bloomberg, Politico, and CNN, among many others. The Wisconsin case involved a very pro-Republican legislative district map that would help Republicans retain control of the state legislature, and the Maryland case involved a single very pro-Democrat congressional district.

Former NAACP president and current community organizer Ben Jealous is running for Maryland governor and early on received an enthusiastic endorsement from Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT). Since then, he's won the endorsements of Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) and now of Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA).  Both of whom are positioning themselves for a 2020 presidential bid. As a former board member of the Bernie campaign's latest incarnation, Our Revolution, Jealous' campaign site reads like the wishlist of the self-avowed socialist Sanders.
