Brazil's President Jair Bolsonaro announced the creation of a new political party, aligning himself closer to the country's Catholic and Evangelical electorates. The "Alliance for Brazil," as the new party is called, will restore "God's place in the life, history and soul of the Brazilian people," the Brazilian President told cheering crowd at a rally on Thursday.

As the U.S. disengages from Latin America as part of President Obama’s broader policy of reducing American presence in the world, Iran is moving in fill parts of that geopolitical vacuum, says a report published by Washington D.C. based Center for a Secure Free Society (SFS). The report used documents and legal wiretaps related to the circumstance surrounding the death of Argentine prosecutor Alberto Nisman who died of a bullet shot on January 19, 2015, a day before he was going to testify before Argentina’s Congress about Buenos Aires Jewish community center bombing carried out by Iranian terrorists. The report cited by the Wall Street Journal shows how the death of Argentine prosecutor “paved the way for [Iran] to move into a new phase of its information and intelligence operations in Latin America.” WSJ concluded that unfettered access for international financial system and assets worth $150 billion given to Iran as the result of Obama-Kerry Nuclear Deal “will increase Iran’s penetration of the Western Hemisphere.” The revelation comes just days after a senior Israeli diplomat in New Delhi warned of a concrete threat of Iran-sponsored terrorism targeting Israelis in India and abroad. In February 2012, Iranian terrorists carried out a bomb attack targeting Israeli mission in New Delhi.

After trying in vain to keep Manuel Zelaya in power, imposing sanctions on Honduran politicians and goods, and falsely labeling the constitutional effort to preserve democracy as an illegal "coup," the Obama administration finally is calling it quits.Hillary Clinton is seeking to convince other nations...

I've been preoccupied the past few weeks, so I have not followed closely enough the end of the saga in Honduras.Manuel Zelaya, the one-term President of Honduras who wanted to be the forever-term President, will be leaving the country very soon:Ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya...

The Honduran Congress voted not to reinstate Manuel Zelaya pending the duly and recently elected President Porfirio Lobo taking office in January. That vote is consistent with the accord resolving the crisis. There's not a lot I can add to my prior posts, and these commentaries...

Hondurans voted yesterday, and it appears that a rival of Manuel Zelaya has won. For those of you who regularly read this blog, you know of the struggle of Honduras not only against Zelaya and his primary backer, Hugo Chavez, but also against the Obama...

The Obama administration finally got its first foreign policy victory, in Honduras. But it appears to be merely symbolic, with Chicago-style bullying still going on in the background to force Honduras to allow Manuel Zelaya back into power. The government of Honduras has agreed -- subject...

Manuel Zelaya is supported by the Israel-bashing, Jew-baiting Hugo Chavez, who is teaming up with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran on a variety of fronts. So this NY Times report about anti-Semitic comments by a prominent Zelaya supporter comes as no surprise:Mr. [David] Romero, a host for...

Until I started reading stories about Barack Obama's failure in Copenhagen, I didn't realize just how pathetic were the arguments used in support of Chicago as the 2016 Summer Olympic venue. In short, Obama and Chicago played the diversity card, but got out-diversified, and in...

It's hard to know if the situation in Honduras is as dire as reports indicate. Apparently the Obama administration is on the verge of winning in Honduras by forcing the constitutional authorities -- the legislature, the courts, the interim government -- to allow back into...

The saga of Manuel Zelaya should be a teachable moment to the Obama administration. As reported in the Miami Herald, Zelaya's insanity is seeping out. Zelaya claims he is the victim of radiation and mind control experiments and is being targeted by Israeli mercenaries. This is...

Barack Obama speaks at the U.N. today. What an opportunity, to call out all the thugs and dictators, and to defend personal and political freedom which is under attack daily in Venezuela, Iran and elsewhere. A real opportunity. But if history is any guide, it is...
