Democrats are fond of claiming that America doesn’t need Trump’s southern border wall, yet so many of them live behind protective walls.

In Michigan, Governor Gretchen Whitmer is currently erecting an eight-foot-high border around her home.

Who is she trying to keep out, her ‘mostly peaceful’ constituents?

Collin Anderson reports at the Washington Free Beacon:

Biden Surrogate Builds Wall, Makes Michigan Taxpayers Pay For It

Michigan Democratic governor Gretchen Whitmer’s state-owned residence is getting $1.1 million in security upgrades, including an eight-foot-tall perimeter fence.

Whitmer has long questioned the effectiveness of physical barriers, but is asking Michigan taxpayers to foot the bill for a seven-figure project to keep out uninvited guests. The governor’s office confirmed the renovation on Friday, telling the Detroit News that the wall would help “ensure the safety, security, and protection of any sitting governor and the first family.” The renovation will include an electrified fence that Whitmer claims is necessary because of threats she has received.

Whitmer, a Biden surrogate, has attacked the idea of using barriers to prevent illegal immigration. She called President Donald Trump’s border wall “costly and ineffective” in February 2017, nearly a week after suggesting that money for the wall would be better spent elsewhere.

Democrats: It’s different when we do it.

According to Morgan Phillips of FOX News, a spokesperson for Whitmer said this was routine maintenance:

Whitmer spokeswoman Tiffany Brown called the renovations “routine maintenance and upgrades” that were needed to “to ensure the safety, security and protection of any sitting governor and the first family,” according to the Detroit News.

The cost of the upgrades at the Lansing residence, as recommended by Michigan State Police and the state Department of Technology, Management and Budget, is approximately $1.1 million, Brown said. It wasn’t clear how much of the budget would be spent on the perimeter fence.

“As a matter of practice, we’re constantly reviewing security protocols and adjusting as needed,” Shanon Banner, spokeswoman for the Michigan State Police, told the Detroit News. “We don’t comment on specific threats against the governor nor do we provide information about security measures.”

Walls for me, but not for thee.

Think anyone in the liberal media will ask Whitmer about this seeming contradiction?

Michigan is a lost cause. Chickenschiff’s abound, including a few friends who actually believe all the bullschiff about the chinese flu. They’re still hiding as best they can from it.

Despite opposition rallies at the Capitol, legal challenges and recall efforts, a majority of Michigan voters approve of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s job performance and handling of the coronavirus pandemic, according to a Detroit News-WDIV-TV poll.

The first-term Democratic governor’s approval rating has risen more than 15 percentage points from January. The first coronavirus cases were confirmed in Michigan in March. The uptick in popularity could help former Vice President Joe Biden as he seeks to win the state where President Donald Trump prevailed by 10,704 votes in 2016, experts said.

In a poll of 600 likely voters by the Glengariff Group, 59% said they approve of Whitmer’s job performance, including a large share of the independent and Black voters who will be key to any Democratic win in November. The poll surveyed voters in all regions of the state Sept. 1-3, with half reached by cell phone. The poll has an error margin of plus or minus 4 percentage points.

Another 38% of voters disapproved of the governor’s performance.

In January, only 43% approved of the job Whitmer was doing and 36% disapproved.

Whitmer’s jump in job approval rating appears to have stemmed from her response to the pandemic. Nearly 61% of Michigan voters approve of Whitmer’s handling of the coronavirus outbreak compared with 36% who disapprove, according to the poll.

The high ratings of her performance are all the more remarkable considering that only 52% of voters surveyed said they had a favorable impression of Whitmer.

The evil Whitmer will ensure that Trump wins Michigan and that John James is their next Senator. Wicked Gretchen will serve us well after all the havoc she has brought upon the good people of MI.

    Governor Umbridge

It should be called “Harridan’s Wall.”
