Trumptillas: Trump Supporters Hold Rallies During Pandemic Without Riots and Looting

Trump rallies can’t take place due to the pandemic, but Trump supporters in certain areas have come up with a new way to express their solidarity with the president. They’re boat parades called “Trumptillas.”

You’ve got to admire their ingenuity and enthusiasm. And none of it involves riots or looting.

    Marc Caputo reports at Politico:

Trump embraces a new kind of rally: The ‘Trumptilla’

President Donald Trump can’t hold his large energetic rallies because of the coronavirus. But his campaign has discovered the next best thing: massive pro-Trump flotillas that are taking his message to waterways across the country.

The large boat parades — which began organically among MAGA devotees in South Florida and spread to Florida’s Gulf Coast, Arizona’s Lake Havasu, South Carolina’s Charleston Harbor and Southern California’s Newport Harbor during Memorial Day weekend — quickly caught the notice of the president and his campaign. Now, the campaign is encouraging the flotillas and utilizing its robust data operation to organize and excite a demographic that turns out to be heavily represented in some of the most closely contested swing states from the Sun Belt to the Great Lakes.

Heading into the holiday weekend, the campaign reports, its biggest seller from its online store were its blue nautical flags emblazoned with the president’s last name.

“The boat parades are essentially recreating Trump rallies, but with social distancing built in,” said John Sellek, a Michigan Republican consultant, adding that the free spirit of recreational boating jibes with the president’s messaging.

Caputo notes that one of the places where this has really caught on is Michigan, where the husband of Gretchen Whitmer recently came under fire for trying to launch his boat despite his wife’s strict shutdown policies.

Trump also noted it on Twitter:

This is Newport Beach, California on May 25th:

    Here are some other examples:

The campaign should call this the Trump Navy.

Compare any conservative rally to any liberal rally. the people are more respectful they pick up after themselves. They don’t destroy. Liberals on the other hand throw tantrums.

Everyone I know living in Newport Beach is a radical Trump hater. It’s comforting to learn that they have plenty of well-to-do neighbors who feel otherwise.

Trump’s support is vastly underrated throughout the country. His popularity will zoom if he decides to truly crack down on this wave of organized professional violence.

The LA riots ended when the NG arrived under orders to shoot to kill. I personally met two NGers working as bouncers at the Ice House comedy club soon after the riots had ended and they made it clear that they were shooting and people were being shot. THAT is what ended it.

Don’t call in the NG with orders to stand around like the police. These are military troops trained to fire on the enemy.

Not sure how helpful it is to have the Face of Trump Support to be the Top 1%.

      Franker,
Careful with your stereotypical 1% comment. I was in the CHS parade, and believe it or not, a LOT of the folks were just normal, hardworking folks who just like boating. Sure, there were some gold-platers in the fleet, but there was a huge number of boats in the 15-25 ft. range. These aren’t yachts, and these folks aren’t 1%-ers.

I get that but there are also many millions of people (voters) who have lost their jobs and are having trouble paying rent and mortgages. People driving around in boats – regardless of whether they are literally the 1% or not – is not something that may be particularly appealing to them. IMO

What you are really saying is that anything, in any form, that a Trump supporter does to support the President, is not a good look and they should allow the opinions of others, who will disapprove of them no matter what they do, to influence the forms in which their support takes.

PDJT didn’t cause them to lose their jobs. Most if not all Americans are smart enough to realize that. Except you evidently.

What’s the face of the Biden support?

      LOL.

Biden’s support is so low, he can’t even get astroturf support.

The face of Biden’s support is a Clown Face – but unfortunately (at least according to the 96 election) there are slightly more of them than there are of us.

BTW, most polls show Biden in the lead – another testimonial to the stupidity of the American Electorate.

Americans are not diversitists. We don’t begrudge our neighbor’s fortune nor covet his wife. We don’t subscribe to the Pro-Choice religion. It’s all in the country’s charter. Well, most of it.

Oh, come on. Everyone has made up their mind about how they are going to vote.

The only issue is whether riots will keep voters away from polls, or how much fraud the swamp/left/islamic/ChiComm axis can perpetrate.

Get it straight: the civil war is here. It’s not an abstract anymore.

We are in a civil war.

You guy’s opinion on this boat thing is different than mine, that’s all.

My point was there are a whole lot of past and potential Trump Voters who are hurting right now.

Trying to get them to the polls by showing them Trump Signs on Expensive Boats seems kind of counterproductive.

    LOL
