GOP Chairwoman on Biden vs. Kavanaugh: Democrats Went From Me Too to Move On

“I’m going to take issue with the media ignoring this. It has been appalling the hypocrisy, as to how Brett Kavanaugh was treated versus Joe Biden.”

GOP Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel appeared on ABC This Week on Sunday and called out the media and Democrats for the way they are treating the allegations against Joe Biden vs. the personal destruction of Brett Kavanaugh.

The left’s hypocrisy on this has been stunning.

Host Martha Raddatz tried to claim that the media has not ignored the accusations against Biden. McDaniel correctly pointed out that the media had to be dragged into covering the story, unlike with Kavanaugh.

    Here’s a transcript, via NewsBusters:

MARTHA RADDATZ: Well, I know we here at ABC have not ignored and many in the media have not ignored it. We haven’t ignored it. But I want to turn to those accusations.

You put out an ad, an attack ad against Joe Biden, but the President has also been accused of sexual harassments, sexual misconduct, sexual assault by more than a dozen women. And in a radio interview on Thursday, President Trump said while Tara Reade, the accuser, sounds credible, “I would just say to Joe Biden, just go out and fight it.” Adding, “I guess in a way you could say I’m sticking up for him.” Is he sticking up for Joe Biden? And how far will you go with these attack ads?

MCDANIEL: I’m going to take issue with the media ignoring this. It has been appalling the hypocrisy, as to how Brett Kavanagh was treated versus Joe Biden. Brett Kavanaugh, every accuser was put on TV, it was wall-to-wall coverage. They went into his high school yearbook. They said he needed an FBI investigation. Michael Avenatti was on TV accusing him of gang rap, from an accuser who never even met Brett Kavanaugh.

And then you go to Joe Biden, five weeks of silence. 19 interviews without a single question. He won’t let people go in his records in the University of Delaware. They’re calling on the DNC to do the investigation. It from #MeToo, #MeToo, #MeToo to move on, move on, move on in a nanosecond because he’s a Democrat.

And the hypocrisy is appalling and it’s not just from the Democrats, it’s from the media. And I’ll tell you, I think any outlet that conducted those 19 interviews and didn’t ask a single question should be disqualified from conducting any part of a presidential debate.

    See the video below:

This sentiment was echoed by FOX News anchor Bret Baier, during an appearance on the Guy Benson Radio Show over the weekend. Mediaite reported:

Fox News’ Bret Baier: No Question There’s ‘Huge’ Disparity in Media Coverage of Biden, Kavanaugh

Fox News anchor Bret Baier said there’s no question that there has been a “huge” disparity in coverage between the allegations against Brett Kavanaugh and Joe Biden.

Baier spoke with Fox News contributor Guy Benson on Fox News Radio and noted the lingering questions from the former VP’s interview with Mika Brzezinski, including on growing calls to release relevant documents…

“If you look back at who said what and how and how the coverage went, I mean, Joe Biden just did 25 interviews before… he was asked one question about it,” Baier said. The disparity is huge.”

I just wish they had kept the split screen up to see the look on Martha’s face when she was challenged on her nonsensical assertion that ABC and many in the media covered the allegation against sleepy Joe.

Is this woman the best we can do to be the face of the GOP? Is she telegenic? No. Is she out there slugging every day? No. Is she particularly talented? No.

A guy like General Flynn is. Or Tom Cotton. Or Nevin Nunes. Or Jim Jordan.

Why, as a group, do we tolerate such mediocrity from OUR political party??
