Democrats Using Crisis to Advance Progressive Agenda

Democrats Using Crisis to Advance Progressive Agenda

“a tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision”

It is increasingly obvious that Democrats see an upside to the Coronavirus crisis, and naturally it is all about politics and power. How do we know this? They keep saying it out loud.

You may recall that old quote from Rahm Emanuel about not wasting a crisis. According to Brainy Quote, this is what he said in full:

You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it’s an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.

Democrats have obviously taken that message to heart.

Collin Anderson writes at the Washington Free Beacon:

Rep. James Clyburn, Who Touted Coronavirus As ‘Tremendous’ Political Opportunity, to Take Helm of Pandemic Oversight Committee

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) announced the formation of a new coronavirus oversight committee led by House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D., S.C.), who last month said the pandemic gives Democrats “a tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision.”

The speaker’s announcement on Thursday comes as her caucus plots another relief package, with a national vote-by-mail requirement as a top priority. Pelosi faced criticism in March after stalling the then-proposed stimulus bill in favor of her own version, which included increased fuel emissions standards for airlines, an expansion of wind and solar credits, and vote-by-mail provisions. President Donald Trump called the Democrat’s proposal “crazy.”

Over in California, Governor Gavin Newsom is echoing James Clyburn.

Michael Ruiz reports at FOX News:

California’s Newsom says coronavirus provides ‘opportunity’ to push progressive agenda

California Gov. Gavin Newsom sees an “opportunity” to use the coronavirus outbreak to usher in new progressive policies in his state and elsewhere in the country, he said Wednesday.

“Absolutely, we see this as an opportunity reshape the way we do business and how we govern,” he said during a virtual press conference.

The remark came near the end of a long, winding answer to a question about whether he saw “the potential” in the crisis for “a new progressive era” in state and national politics.

    See the video below:

This crisis is not about implementing a progressive vision, but it’s very telling that so many Democrats seem to see it that way.

Perhaps the needs of the American people should come first. Just a thought.

What worries me is the lack of testing in California. We are in the bottom 5 states for testing per capita. CA is only doing 2,000 tests a day! And the Roche 6800/8800 machines that are touted for doing lots of testing, was developed in Pleasanton!

I am surprised there is so little focus on testing in the Media in CA.

CA has a backlog of 60,000 tests, and per comments I read, it’s taking between 5 days in a hospital, to 2 weeks for a Nurses Partner to get results in CA.

CA Official Testing Data is sketchy, but you can see trends:

Cali is playing by CCP rules. Can’t have the image tarnished. I still am startled that the Assembly hasn’t banned all assault viruses and high capacity bacteria. It’s an obvious “first step” in stopping needless infections.

For now Gov. Nuisance is a golden boy.

They don’t WANT to do a lot of testing, especially antibody testing.

Because mass testing might very well reveal that this disease is incredibly widespread which would reveal that the mortality rate is no worse than any other bad flu season.

which would mean this whole economic shutdown was unnecessary.

And if you’re trying to re-structure society in the vision of Karl Marx, you certainly don’t want your crisis to go to waste now do you?

Healthcare workers receiving virus loads that result in fatal infection is somewhat atypical. Seasonal flu usually does not do that. But there are people who speculate that California’s low infection rate and high traffic from China has already resulted in herd immunity. We won’t know for a while.

It’s not just the democrats. Georgia’s a-hole governor has issued shelter-in-place for all non-critical workers in the middle of March. There is a list of exceptions to allow pick-up at restaurants, auto parts, and most retail. He latter stated the virtual classroom for schools would remain in effect for the rest of the school year – only about 15% of students are doing the work. The first of this week he extended shelter-in-place till the middle of May. Thursday night he opened the beaches!?!?

He was also the one who appointed the gold-digger Kelly Loefler to the senate so she could sell her stocks on confidential info in briefings. Both need to go.

“Democrats using crisis to advance agenda”

Dems/Progs use anything/everything to advance their agenda. Large problem: advancing the Left’s politics retards our country’s future.

The left is where the most brutal regimes in our world have emerged. USSR, Nazi Germany, China, Cuba, Vietnam, Korea.

I think leftists know their plots and desires become less and less desirable as the shine fades from their stated intentions, and reality sets in for those who thought they wanted this. The leaders of these movements fear freedom. They fear free thinking people, and need to control all aspects of life otherwise the people would rebel once their eyes are opened to what they have unleashed.

The left today at heart authoritarians or worse. Never mind that so many of their decisions and dictates through the decades have brought harm to our country and lessened our freedoms. We are not as free a people as we were even just a few decades ago. And it always gets worse under the left. Always. They use society changes as a disguise for giving freedom, while taking freedoms away with the other hand. And fools accept it.

I fear more about our government than I do about infectious diseases. I have no desire to live in a type of slavery beholden to a government, and therefore totalitarian rules, for my existence. The left never stop. We shouldn’t either.

I hope people will grasp that present restrictions and limited supplies were the daily life in communist countries under Soviet rule and part of daily existence now in Venezuela. “Fear from want” really meant fearing to say what one wanted.
