Mitt Romney Proposes Giving $1,000 to Each American in Response to Coronavirus

    Cheers from the Yang Gang!

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) sent out a proposal to help Americans due to coronavirus, which includes providing each American with $1,000.

“The House coronavirus response package contains critical measures to help families in Utah and across the nation in the midst of the coronavirus outbreak, and the Senate should act swiftly on this legislation,” Romney wrote. “We also urgently need to build on this legislation with additional action to help families and small businesses meet their short-term financial obligations, ease the financial burden on students entering the workforce, and protect health workers on the front lines and their patients by improving telehealth services. I will be pushing these measures as Senate discussions continue about an additional relief package.”

Everything has basically shut down since the CDC recommends banning large gatherings of 50 or more people.

Romney suggested the government give each American $1,000. I guess Andrew Yang inspired him.

Romney tried to justify his proposal sine “Congress took similar action during the 2001 and 2008 recessions.” He admitted that “expansions of paid leave, unemployment insurance, and SNAP benefits are crucial,” but insisted “the check will help fill the gaps for Americans that may not quickly navigate different government options.”

The proposal also included grants for small businesses impacted by the virus, ease the financial burden for students by putting in “Unexpected Costs due to COVID-19” as a factor for Pell Grant Amount. Romney also wants the government to allow loan deferment for any recent graduate affected by the coronavirus.

As we all know once the government implements something it rarely goes away. Never let a crisis go to waste!

$1000 isn’t very much money. Don’t need it myself. Best use would be to send to Trump’s reelection campaign. If reelected Trump’s economy will come back and I will make hundreds of times more money.
