Trump’s third State of the Union Address begins tonight around 9 PM ET. You can watch live below and this post will be continuously updated with the latest.
It should be a good time, seeing as impeachment deliberations continue. Despite or in spite of the lower house circus, Trump’s approval ratings hit an all time high.
Earlier today, Mike blogged about what we can expect to hear in tonight’s SOTU. We’re told it’s going to be remarkably low key, there will be no mention of the big “I” in the room, and Trump will focus on “relentless optimism.”
Reports are that Rush Limbaugh will be in attendance at the invitation of Trump, and that Trump will announce he is awarding Rush the Medal of Freedom.
Yup, there he is, a bearded and thin-looking Rush next to Melania.

There has long been a revered SOTU tradition that the Speaker of the House does not exhibit opposition or ridicule for the remarks of a president (even if he is from the opposing party). Pelosi is shattering that tradition by nodding in the negative and shaking her head.

Rush did not look well tonight. Happy, but not well, as Trump acknowledged him, and Melania put the Medal of Freedom around his neck.
Mitch McConnell, and two of his greatest accomplishments, Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, all got shout outs.

That speech was about America doing well.
It was about the American people living better because of the booming economy.
And she ripped it up.
The speech was positive, uplifting, and the Democrats were stone faced.
I get the show they do, but too many times were given when normal, sane opposition members would at the very least applaud. Not to say they didn’t on the rare occasion they were given permission by Il Duce Pelosi, but Americans should be filled with shame that there are so many hate filled leftists in that august body.

Now cut the old girl some slack. Yes she ripped up his speech. But if she had done what she really wanted to do, she woulda rubbed the pieces on her backside. So she did show some restraint.

When it was announced that Rush was being awarded the Medal of Freedom, my first reaction was uh-oh. Now, tonight, with Rush arriving in a wheelchair (which we did not know at first), and then seeing him in a suit that clearly is now too large for him, in addition to Melania awarding the Medal of Freedom, my initial thoughts are this is not good. Although Rush downplayed his illness to his audience, I have this horrible feeling that he knows his time is limited. He has millions of listeners pulling for him, and miracles do happen. Let’s hope Rush finds his.

I think Pelosi was doing her 2019 tax returns. The way she went back and forth over the same sheets has to be a tax return. Then the poor woman tore it up! Oh well, there is always TurboTax.
