Really wish this coronavirus would only infect liberals. It’d make the world a nicer place to live.
Wapoop has an opinion piece blaming Trump for not pushign Medicare for All. Scum, that’s all they are.
Between you and the “progressives” on the Washington Post’s comment sections who wish the virus would spread at Trump rallies, I guess the only people left will be we independents who don’t hate this country’s guts or want people dead because I don’t like their politics.
Wednsday, the press conference was on Wednesday.
Dr. Nancy Messonnier, an official in the Centers for the CDC, happens to be the sister of Rod Rosenstein; how convenient.
Except that her scary view looks like it will turn out to be more accurate than the President’s soft-pedaling it in his news conference last night. Being behind the curve could cost him re-election. Reports this morning that some people who supposedly recovered are testing positive again are troubling. This looks to be something that escaped from a Chinese bio-weapons lab, with who knows what properties. My guess is that this will be a “Black Swan” event that has major economic, health and political consequences.
So, at least a few items have been taken off the table (pun intended), that we don’t have to worry about here……

No, her scary view is fear-mongering. We have two large oceans guarding us, we have already mostly cut off China, and we have advanced hygiene and medical care (except in CA). Unless someone convinces a judge that we have to open our borders to the infected Chinese (and others), we’ll be fine.
Do we need to be careful? Yes. But this isn’t Outbreak.
We have a porous Southern border and Mexico and Central America hardly have “advanced hygiene and medical care”. Perhaps the extra billions Congress appropriates can be used to close that border if necessary.
