Dershowitz: “President Obama Personally Asked the FBI to Investigate Somebody on Behalf of George Soros”

Dershowitz: “President Obama Personally Asked the FBI to Investigate Somebody on Behalf of George Soros”

Evidence of this, Dershowitz states, “will be disclosed in a lawsuit at some point”

Despite former Attorney General Eric Holder referring to himself in that role as then-president Obama’s “wingman,” Democrats have been swooning for the nearest fainting couch over a few tweets from President Trump regarding the Roger Stone sentencing recommendation.  They claim to be outraged because Trump, they screech, is undermining DOJ independence.

Back in 2013, when rumors were swirling that Holder might leave the top spot at Justice, he confidently asserted that “I’m still enjoying what I’m doing, there’s still work to be done. I’m still the President’s wing-man, so I’m there with my boy.”  Not a peep from Democrats about DOJ independence then.  Of course.  Likewise, there was no outcry over the pre-planned “tarmac summit” between Holder’s replacement Loretta Lynch and Bill Clinton during the FBI’s investigation of Hillary Clinton’s email server.

Complicating Democrats’ set of double standards—one for Obama, another for Trump—is a new allegation that “Obama personally asked the FBI to investigate somebody on behalf of George Soros.” Alan Dershowitz made the allegation Sunday.

    Fox News reports:

Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz said Sunday he has proof that former President Barack Obama “personally asked” the FBI to investigate someone “on behalf of George Soros,” the liberal billionaire megadonor.

Dershowitz’s claim came soon after Attorney General Bill Barr openly asked President Trump to stop tweeting about ongoing Justice Department matters, saying it made it “impossible” to do his job. Barr, who also maintained that Trump never personally intervened in a criminal matter, was hit last week by a letter from former DOJ officials organized by a leftwing group demanding his resignation.

“There was a lot of White House control of the Justice Department during the Kennedy administration and I don’t think we saw very many liberal professors arguing against that,” Dershowitz said in an interview with Breitbart News that aired Sunday on SiriusXM. “I have some information as well about the Obama administration – which will be disclosed in a lawsuit at some point, but I’m not prepared to disclose it now – about how President Obama personally asked the FBI to investigate somebody on behalf of George Soros, who was a close ally of his.” He did not say specifically who the target might have been.

. . . . Dershowitz added: “We’ve seen this kind of White House influence on the Justice Department virtually in every Justice Department. The difference: This president is much more overt about it, he tweets about it. President Obama whispered to the Justice Department about it. And, I don’t think these 1,000 former Justice Department officials would pass the shoe-on-the-other-foot test. Maybe some of them would, but a good many of them wouldn’t.”

Constitutionally, Dershowitz said, the president “could make a decision to really control the Justice Department” and decide specifically whom to prosecute and not to prosecute. The former member of Trump’s impeachment defense team clarified, however, that it wouldn’t be a good move.

“He shouldn’t do it; it hasn’t been done since Thomas Jefferson,” Dershowitz said. “Thomas Jefferson did do it. We’ve seen this throughout our history.”

So the term “lawsuit” suggests to me (IANAL) a personal injury type suit – brought by Trump I imagine? Or does “lawsuit” mean charge/indictment and prosecution brought by the state against law-breakers?

I hate to bring this up again but with the msm in the DNC’s back pocket, there will NEVER be a major Dem figure scandal AGAIN! To have a scandal the msm must be the conduit that makes it one. NOTHING the left does will rise to that level again for the msm to write about it. Just look at the last three years and the previous eight. Podesta, Craig, hillary, Holder, Lynch, obama all guilty of lying to the Congress and the FBI yet not one of them was prosecuted. Papadopolous, Manafort, Flynn, Stone were all charged and convicted from a hoax investigation with the most extreme judge in DC. Podesta was Manafort’s partner but got immunity.

When the 4th Estate becomes part of the scam, all we have left is our political party.

The GOP is a house of cards, one election away from running back to the bosom of the swamp, happy to do its bidding.

Until we starve the likes of romney etc out of it, we can’t rest – not for a second.

A president making decisions about who to investigate or prosecute does not make those decisions political and the AG making those decisions does not make them non-political. The question is whether reasonable legal standards are being followed and then, must crucially for the question of politicization, whether these standards are being applied equally regardless of political affiliation.

Ironic that our mainstream radical left is attacking Trump for condemning blatant DOJ politicization on the part of radically politicized Obama-holdovers. The left is effectively screaming that politicization is good when they do it and must not be interfered with.

Why Barr finds it difficult to defend Trump’s criticism of politicization is a mystery. Why not just admit that his department is still shot through with partisan Democrat “resistors” who are determined to resist the electoral will of The People as expressed in the election of Donald Trump and this this is indeed a problem that he is working on, trying to drain his part of “the swamp”?

After all, Barr DID just have to fire or accept the resignations of four rogue prosecutors. He should just say: “yeah, those guys needed to go, especially after they LIED to me about their sentencing plans. The President’s criticism of those four bad apples just shows that he is paying attention. My bad for not weeding them out sooner so I’ll be paying more attention to the ‘swamp’ problem going forward. ”

Don’t be afraid to make the radical leftists cry. They are going to cry anyway. Just make sure they have to suffer the actual pain of having their politicized prosecutors thrown out.
