San Francisco: Socialist Son of Imprisoned Weather Underground Terrorists Who Was Raised By Bill Ayers and Worked for Hugo Chavez Elected D.A.

City sinking under weight of feces and needles gets a socialist champion of lax policing and immigration obstruction

As we noted in 2018, leftist billionaire George Soros has been focusing his intricate web of foundations, super PACs, and assorted organizations on the nation’s District Attorney offices.

Across the country, Soros-affiliated groups have backed far-left radicals for the office and have seen some success.  One example is Larry Krasner in Philadelphia, and another, as of yesterday, is self-proclaimed socialist Chesa Boudin in San Francisco.

    The San Francisco Chronicle reports:

Chesa Boudin won the race to become the city’s next district attorney Saturday on a campaign promising to confront mass incarceration and racial disparities in the criminal justice system, while vowing to hold police more accountable in cases of brutality.

A former deputy public defender, Boudin will now helm the office he previously went up against after winning by a razor-thin margin against Suzy Loftus, who had been appointed as interim district attorney by the mayor weeks before the election.

Boudin wound up with 85,950 votes and Loftus with 83,511 votes on Saturday afternoon, with only about 1,200 votes left to count.

Boudin ran on a platform of “decarceration” . . . except for ICE and police officers who are doing their jobs. Those he wants to pursue, prosecute, and imprison.

Boudin’s background is alarming. His parents are violent radicals who were still acting as if the sixties never ended when they were involved in the robbery of a Brinks armored car in 1981. The crime included the murder of two police officers and a security guard, and Boudin’s father is still in prison for his horrific crimes.

    Michelle Malkin reports:

The cornerstone of Boudin’s campaign is sabotaging immigration enforcement. He has called for prosecution and imprisonment of ICE and police officers for doing their jobs and vowed to create an “immigrant defense unit” within the DA’s office to “stand up to Trump on immigration.”

. . . . Boudin is the militant offspring of spoiled-rich radicals Kathy Boudin and David Gilbert, members of the violent Weather Underground terrorist group, which bombed government buildings and corporate headquarters, aided convicted felons in jailbreaks and participated in a 1981 Brink’s armored car holdup in Nyack, New York, with the Black Liberation Army. That crime took the lives of three innocent Americans — police officers Edward O’Grady and Waverly Brown and private security guard Peter Paige.

Kathy Boudin was an 11-year fugitive from justice after an accidental homemade bomb explosion at her New York City townhouse resulted in three other deaths. At the time of her arrest in Nyack, Boudin gave police one of many false identities she had used to evade the law. She was paroled in 2003 after convincing parole board members that she acted nobly out of “white guilt” to protest racism against blacks. (Reality check: Officer Waverly Brown was a black, working-class military veteran.) Gilbert remains in prison. Their story was glorified and romanticized by Robert Redford in the 2013 movie, “The Company You Keep.”

Following his parents’ incarceration, Boudin was raised by Weather Underground radicals Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn.

    Malkin continues:

After Kathy Boudin dropped off toddler Chesa at a babysitter’s house so she could help perpetrate the bloody $1.6 million Brink’s heist, this privileged elitist was adopted by another pair of America-hating domestic agitators, unrepentant Weathermen colleagues Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.

Ayers celebrated bombing the Pentagon in his radical memoir, “Fugitive Days,” taught at the University of Illinois in Chicago, and mentored Barack Obama. Dohrn declared war on “AmeriKKKa,” helped stage the “Days of Rage” in Chicago, when Weathermen blew up a memorial statue to police officers and rioted violently, leaving 75 policemen wounded and one permanently injured in a wheelchair, and then spent years as a fugitive from justice before settling into a comfy post as former director of the Legal Clinic’s Children and Family Justice Center at Northwestern University.

Steeped in Marxist ideology and self-pity, Boudin moaned to The New York Times that he was “sad that my parents have to suffer what they have to suffer on a daily basis” because they were “dedicated to fighting U.S. imperialism around the world.” No compassion for the families of the officers his parents helped murder, but the Yale grad and Rhodes Scholar did earn praise for his crusades against “urban misery in Bolivia, homelessness in Santiago and illiteracy in Guatemala.”

    Monica Showalter has more:

This is the adopted son of Bill Ayers, famed radical who “made” Barack Obama, a former domestic terrorist who founded and led the violent Weathermen terrorist organization responsible for multiple murders and who declared, after a lefty jury acquitted him, that he was “guilty as sin, free as a bird.” After that, he went on to a life of left-ifying the country’s public schools and collecting honors. Boudin’s step-mom, Bernardine Dorhn, meanwhile, praised the Manson family murders for their sadism: “First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them, then they even shoved a fork into the pig Tate’s stomach! Wild!” she famously said.

As for his real relatives, well, gramps was Fidel Castro’s lawyer. His mom, Kathy Boudin, went to the can as a Weatherman, too, caught for murdering a black police officer during a Brink’s robbery and yelling she did it because racism. As for his real pop, well, he’s still in prison for the killings and might not get out. Chesa himself touted his experience visiting his parents in prison as a dreadful personal injustice he suffered, falsely making himself a victim of the system instead of being a victim of his own parents who had this problem of killing others.

In his own right, Boudin has a troubling background. For example, in 2006 he penned a piece in the Nation that extolled the glories of Hugo Chavez’s socialism and proclaimed the totalitarian tyrant who, arguably, single-handedly destroyed a strong Venezuelan economy a “proven” success.

    Showalter continues:

In short, he’s left-wing royalty, and it gets worse. He got his start as someone groomed for more by the Cubans at a young age, based on his family “heritage,” and then who made his bones as one of Hugo Chávez’s most prominent defenders, writing books about the glories of the Bolivarian revolution. It wasn’t just that, though — it was going to Caracas spending time with Chávez himself, working as his “adviser” and “translator” in countering the Americans. One wonders if he ever registered as a foreign agent for that one.

Those glories he touted as he propagandized for Chávez included the odor of his own family’s heritage, violence, and in Venezuela that meant his own guerrilla training by Chavista thugs known as colectivos, the motorcycle thugs he calls “non-violent” even in his recent writings, and which his adopted dad still praises in his blog posts. Naturally, he’s a follower of Colombia’s allied FARC Marxist narco-terrorists on his Twitter feed, the new, supposedly peace-loving FARC, which it isn’t. Venezuelans tell me he’s been photographed with an assault rifle during his guerrilla training in Venezuela and has conveniently scrubbed those photos from the internet now. He follows a guy on Twitter called “CornPop’s Switchblade” who openly advocates for killing bankers.

In short, he’s the privileged princeling son of the most radical of the radical chic of the 1960s, now running as the candidate of the working man on a Democratic Socialists of America–Justice Democrats “squad model,” promising to empty the prisons — err, “end mass incarceration” — and open the borders.

Boudin’s “decarceration” and anti-police agenda earned the ire of the San Francisco Police Officers’ Association, who refer to Boudin as the “#1 choice of criminals and gang members.”

His election night party featured charming chants of “Fuck the POA.”

Malkin dug into the funding behind Boudin, and found, to no one’s surprise, connections to Soros-backed groups.

Those who share Boudin’s fringe radicalism are, naturally, thrilled that he won.

Boudin claims to be “part of a growing movement that’s bringing a new vision to the District Attorney’s office,” and he is right. It’s also a smart approach by the “social justice” / “reformative justice” / “decarceral justice” radicals who seek to undermine and replace Americans’ concept of equal justice under the law.

The following is quite long, but it’s worth watching under the principle of knowing one’s enemy.

I am so glad that I was able to visit S.F. so many times before the roof caved in. These days, I’d be afraid to go there.
