Jennifer Bendery from HuffPo just tweeted that police told her that demonstrators shoved open the door to Maryland Republican Rep. Andy Harris’ office and assaulted him. Hopefully we will have more information soon.

It looks like both sides may have exaggerated:

Chad Pergram at Fox News tweeted that two women protesters from the group Dank City Growers, a pro-marijuana group, tried to get into Harris’ office. A scuffle began and Harris got his hand jammed into the door.

One protester was taken to the hospital, but refused medical treatment. Charges are pending.

Exaggerated? Meaning, this isn’t an assault? Two people force their way in and someone is injured during this event? Sounds distinctly assaultesque to me.

Time to issue concealed carry permits to Republican members of the Senate and House along with assigning them two police bodyguards.
