Laura Ingraham advertisers cave in to pressure campaign after she tweeted that David Hogg “whines”

Numerous companies have cancelled advertising in a tactic used against the NRA and many conservative media personalities.

Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg has spent the last month and a half criticizing 2nd Amendment supporters in the most grotesque terms.

His latest tirade accused those who disagree with him as “sick f**kers”:

“I’m beyond exhausted,” Hogg said. “I get to a certain point where I just get so tired that I keep going. It creates a positive feedback loop in some ways — the more stress and work I put on me, the more stress and work I can deal with.”

“It just makes me think what sick fuckers out there want to continue to sell more guns, murder more children, and honestly just get reelected,” Hogg said. “What type of shitty person does that? They could have blood from children splattered all over their faces and they wouldn’t take action, because they all still see these dollar signs.”

“Honestly, it’s alright that people are buying more guns. I just care that they are being safe individuals. And they can practice their Second Amendment rights all they want. I don’t give a f*ck about that. I just want to make sure that a crazy-ass individual doesn’t get an AR-15 or any weapon at all,” Hogg said about guns.

To Florida Gov. Rick Scott: “You’re kind of like Voldemort at this point. You should just retire, because you aren’t going to get elected to Senate.”

To Sen. Marco Rubio: “What about the $176,000 you took for those 17 people’s blood?”

    LANGUAGE WARNING

Wednesday, radio and Fox News host Laura Ingraham tweeted a post from The Daily Wire (Ben Shapiro’s site) detailing how Hogg was denied admission to four colleges adding that he whined about his predicament.

Hogg reacted by calling for a pressure campaign to drive away Ingraham’s advertisers, asking people to contact them and demand they stop sponsorship of Ingraham’s show.

This is the same tactic used against the NRA partnering organizations, and by groups such as Media Matters against conservative media personalities. Hogg is getting support from some of the left-wing organizations using him for their political purposes. And remember, this is all because someone said he whined. That’s it.

    “Deplorable attack”? Really?

From the beginning, these kids (who suffered a severe trauma during the Parkland shooting) have been played as pawns by the usual leftwing activists, organizations, and politicians. Their parents, the media, and everyone advising them are willfully allowing these kids to be completely politically objectified. It’s sick, abusive, and concerning.

So it’s of little surprise that once again, the same lame boycott tactic is being used against a right-leaning personality. This is all textbook liberal activism and Hogg is just their latest excuse.

Media Matters ran the exact same play with Rush Limbaugh after he made an off-color joke about Sandra Fluke (the chick demanding tax-payers pay for her birth control). They lie in wait for someone of status on the right to say something unflattering, then demand sponsors distance themselves.

Ingraham apologized Thursday, saying, “in the spirit of Holy Week, I apologize for any upset or hurt my tweet caused him or any of the brave victims of Parkland.” Adding, “I believe my show was the first to feature David immediately after that horrific shooting and even noted how “poised” he was given the tragedy. As always, he’s welcome to return to the show anytime for a productive discussion.”

Hogg rejected her apology, demanded she apologize again, misquoted scripture, and then played the victim card:

That’s rich. “Love thy neighbor” doesn’t come with a “so long as it’s under my terms and conditions and by the way, I’m not accepting your apology” caveat, pal.

At the time this post was published, five companies have cowered to the teenage-led internet mob and pulled advertising from Ingraham’s show. Cowards. All of them.

Regular readers know my preference for civil, productive discussion over name-calling and polarization (the latter seldom changes minds or hearts and usually do little more than harden both). To be clear, I am not suggesting Hogg’s actions allow for an exception to those principles. That said, whatever claim Hogg had to ‘innocent bystander’ in this nasty national discussion is now gone.

Someone lobbed mild criticism his direction and chose to attack someone’s livelihood, making him an aggressor.

Choosing to attack the Constitutional protections of the masses is also an unnecessarily aggressive act to which people will definitely respond. And when you are threatening someone’s ability to protect themselves, you can bet not everyone being threatened is going to be polite in return.

Meanwhile, NRA donations have tripled since the Parkland Shooting. If these kids want to keep making gun control a national issue, by all means, keep it up.

Worth repeating. NEVER APOLOGIZE to the left. They see this as weakness and reason/excuse to go for the jugular because they smell blood. I was disappointed she did of all people. Hogg is a punk and it disturbs me how much power he can wield. If it truly were about bringing Americans together, a real man and person who cares would have accepted her apology and move on; to use it as an example as an olive branch. Alas, is anyone really surprised he declined it choosing instead to march on with the boycott? All because of a stupid, harmless comment by a pundit paid to give her opinions. An opinion that had absolutely nothing to do with gun control. It very much is about something beyond this clearly. So much for his empty claim ‘love thy neighbour’.
