    Deep State Desperation

    Deep State Desperation

My interview on the loss of institutions

I appeared recently on The Dangerous Thinkers Podcast with Teri O’Brien.

We covered a number of topics, but the launching point was my October 12, 2017, 9th Anniversary post, Legal Insurrection is 9 years old, and filled with dread:

Last year I noted that while it was a difficult year personally, I was optimistic. That’s been one of my roles over the years, keeping hope alive. But there’s no pep talk this year. Just dread….

I don’t know if there are any uncorrupted institutions left that matter….

So I’m thinking through what it will mean to live without institutions.

Sorry to be a downer on our blog birthday. I’ve always tried to be honest with you, and honestly, this blog birthday I’m filled with dread, not good cheer.

That post, focusing on the loss of institutions, had an effect on many people, including Teri, who commented near the beginning of the show:

…. I have to tell you guys in the audience, it’s very much of a bring down, because it starts out, here’s how you start out professor, and it’s a miracle I kept reading because I like wanted to stick a fork in my face at that point ….

Why did she want to stick a fork in her face, and did she?

Well, you’ll have to listen to the podcast to find out! [Don’t try that at home, please.]

We then talk about the efforts to unseat and freeze Trump in the context of the Michael Flynn plea, the Special Counsel, the attempt to undermine the Electoral College, Obama’s history of questionable political behavior before and in office, the unprecedented political activism of current journalists, the threat to free speech on campuses (including my Vassar appearance), “radicalized” social justice warriors, and the one glimmer of hope, taking back the judiciary.

So we covered a lot of topics.

Here are Teri’s Show Notes (not a transcript):

The behavior of Donald Trump’s opponents, and the lengths to which they will go, including personally attacking the electors by publishing their phone numbers and addresses to try to intimidate them, is unprecedented.

Are we headed to an America in which all the institutions that served the preservation of our country (the media, academia) have been effectively destroyed? What then?

While not quite a dictator, Barack Obama did usher in an era of lawlessness, which shouldn’t be a surprise, since he is a cut throat politician who rose to power through ruthless tactics to take out any opposition.

We are facing a time when nearly every institution in our society has been destroyed: the media, academia, and the culture. Yet there may be one institution that we can still recapture.

In sheer numbers, what opportunity does President Trump have to undo the damage that Barack Obama did to the federal courts?

Radical leftists are terrorizing students on college campuses. Even though these “social justice warriors” comprise only about 10-15% of the student body, they are able to silence and terrify anyone who asserts a contrary opinion, such as supporting freedom of speech.
What needs to happen for Teri and Prof. Jacobson to have the on-line champagne party that they discussed during the show?

Here is the podcast, the discussion starts at about the 2:15 mark (click here if player doesn’t load):

Hanukkah is the memorial of a miracle when the flame of hope was kept alive. Keep yours burning, Prof.

As much as I might have disliked Obama I don’t recall people in positions of power/authority talking about “taking it to the streets” to resist his destruction of our nation.
I have decided that some liberals are mentally off the rails and need to be endured and mocked as much as possible.
Hopefully we all will draw joy from Christmas/Hanukkah as appropriate.

Just to be really accurate: yes, while they’re off the rails, many of them are corrupted, and don’t want their free ride to end. But many others truly believe the the fake news of CNN, NBC, etc. – because that’s all they know to watch. In addition to having no spiritual beliefs anymore, they’re desperate to believe in SOMETHING, so they get harangued into believing in ‘global (fill in the blank)’.

Our job is to bring the fight for accurate and non-distorted information of current events and accurate and balanced versions of our nation’s history to the forefront. We won a TITANITC victory with the election of Donald Trump and the marginalization of Jeb! Bush and hillary klinton.

Now it’s time to marginalize The Wizard of Hitler, george soros. (Hungary and Poland are doing a good job of that.)

It’s also time to DESTROY the GOPe – something we completely have the power to do, considering we’re the only people would ever vote for the rats. The reason why so many of us keep doing it, is the same reason so many democrats believe the lies spread on their news shows and in the likes of the ny times and the Washington-Amazon Post.

The election of Trump has overturned almost every rock, and the number of cockroaches, worms, snakes, and other vermin is more than we had ever imagined.

But the corruption has been going on for a long time. The reason we have not seen it is that we were given an illusion to believe, and it was strong enough to override those abuses we did see. We could write off previous egregious acts of our government as “exceptions” and regard the individual actors as “bad apples.”

But all bets are off now. The corruption is systemic, not merely a result of individual criminals who can be ejected from the system.

    So what can be done?

    Professor, I have two suggestions:

    1. Pick a place to begin to push back. Pick small events or a specific cause with which to do it. Tiny victories may not seem like much, but they create momentum. It is not enough to document: one needs to act. This is a long, long battle ahead. Decades at least. A single president or administration cannot change much, even without a Mueller waiting to pounce.

    2. Pray.

Even if you’re not the believing type.

Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Lord.

Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.

If thou, Lord, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?

But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.

I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.

My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.

Let Israel hope in the Lord: for with the Lord there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.

And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
