Never Trump Republican: Trump will “fake something” like Arpaio “faked an assassination attempt”

Never Trump Republican: Trump will “fake something” like Arpaio “faked an assassination attempt”

    Another Trump Reichstag Fire prediction?

    https://youtu.be/3vovkmXwTBs

Evan Siegfried is the sort of Republican MSNBC prefers as panelists: One who supported Hillary Clinton, and later Evan McMullin, and is happy to condemn President Trump.

Appearing on today’s AM Joy, Siegfried went beyond mere condemnation to predict Trump would stage an event to exploit politically. Discussing the Arpaio pardon, Siegfried said:

“Heck: I partially believe Donald Trump will take a play, a page out of Sheriff Arpaio’s playbook and fake something. Remember Sheriff Arpaio faked an assassination attempt against himself and tried to frame an ex-con for it?”

The alleged faked assassination attempt against Arpaio that Siegfried cited is discussed here.

EVAN SIEGFRIED: When Trump goes out, he goes on Long Island and talks about roughing up suspects: that’s his view. You can violate people’s civil liberties. You can rough up suspects. You can racially profile like Sheriff Arpaio did.

Heck: I partially believe that Donald Trump will take a play, a page out of Arpaio’s playbook and fake something. Remember Sheriff Arpaio faked an assassination attempt against himself and tried to frame an ex-con for it?

Note: While mentioning Arpaio’s alleged faked assassination attempt against himself, Siegfried didn’t spell out precisely what kind of event he expects President Trump to “fake.”  But in 2016, other Trump foes quickly accused the Trump campaign of a “Reichstag fire” [a false flag operation] when a local Republican HQ in North Carolina was set on fire and a slogan referring to “Nazi Republicans” was spray-painted on a nearby wall.

Note segundo: Due to problems with our video feed this morning, the YouTube clip of Siegfried’s statement ends with the word “assassination.” But having viewed the TV recording, we can confirm that after “assassination,” Siegfried went on to say “attempt against himself and tried to frame an ex-con for it?”

The talking heads landscape is getting filled more often with campaign operatives. Left or right, these are people whose careers depend on spin, selective edits, distortions, and media manipulation. Without expertise with those methods many are not so successful.

So why the surprise with his statements? I expect campaign operatives to be focused on quotables and not on accuracy. And they don’t come more establishment than Siegfried. So I am never surprised when he makes a comment that favors Trump only because it benefits establishment types. Likewise he criticizes in a way to get attention any time he feels the “old” part of the Grand Old Party is threatened.

predict Trump would stage an event to exploit politically.

Ummm, like what? And for what purpose? As is, this is not much of a statement; barely a step up from the usual mindless “DJT is a poopy-head.”
