Chris Matthews: Trump Voters Stick To Trump “Like a Bathtub Ring”

Chris Matthews: Trump Voters Stick To Trump “Like a Bathtub Ring”

Matthews, frustrated that the non-stop attacks on Trump haven’t alienated his supporters, resorts to insulting them

On this evening’s Hardball, Matthews said “New polls this week show the president with ocean-bottom job approval. That said, his supporters stick like a bathtub ring. Among those who voted for him, says the Washington Post, 96% said they have no regrets about supporting him.”

The non-stop attacks from Dems and the MSM haven’t shaken support for President Trump among those who voted for him. A frustrated Matthews let his vexation show by comparing Trump supporters to that stubborn ring around the bathtub.

CHRIS MATTHEWS: Well, Trump has tried musing up the 100-day standard. He’s argued no administration has accomplished more in this time. But he’s also called 100 days a ridiculous standard. New polls this week show the president with ocean-bottom job approval. That said, his supporters stick like a bathtub ring. Among those who voted for him, says the Washington Post, 96% said they have no regrets about supporting him.

I understand from the latest poll (as if they were trusted) that Trump would now win the popular vote if the election between he and Mrs Clinton were held right now. At this point, what does it matter? He’d have to screw up really big time for 2/3 of the Senate to go for his impeachment (and even then Mrs Clinton would not be President). 90% of the Country could disapprove of him, but without impeachment (or revolution) he is the President until 2020.

Chris is bemoaning the fact that despite their best efforts with fake news and negative spin on everything Trump, the MSM has not succeeded in bringing Trump down. There is a good reason for this, Chris: we simply don’t trust anything you say. And why should we? Most of it has been lies and wishful thinking.

      Exactly!

Despite their vigorous scrubbing, that damn bathtub ring just won’t go away!

I voted for Trump and supported him early based on issues.

And on the issues, Trump is doing horrible. He delivered a contract with the voters on his 100 days legislative agenda, and none of that even got introduced. The wall looks like it will never happen, and Trump is threatening war with North Korea. (And he’s threatening WW3 in Syria).

Paul Ryan has tanked the legislative agenda by prioritizing quagmires like Obamacare reform and tax cuts for the rich over more important and easier wins.

Jeff Sessions, Ben Carson are doing good. Neil Gorsuch looks ok so far, but the rest of the appointments are mostly hacks. Where’s the winning?

So basically what he’s saying is the “right” are more united than the Commies at this point.
I may not completely agree but, hey, if Chrissie says so, I’m not gonna argue.

It used to be the words “Chicago” and “Golf” that would set off Chrissie, now it’s bathtub rings. Must be because his career is swirling the bowl.

So, let me get this straight.

Almost all those who voted for Donald Trump, and handed him the White House, still support him…

    AND …

Donald Trump has “ocean bottom approval ratings”.

Which is it Mr Matthews? It is not possible for it to be both.
