O’Malley Slams DNC Rigged Debate Schedule, Wasserman Schultz Not Pleased

O’Malley Slams DNC Rigged Debate Schedule, Wasserman Schultz Not Pleased

    Democratic civil war.

Martin O’Malley’s complaints about the lack of Democratic debates are getting louder and it’s beginning to put a strain on his party. DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz was not happy about his speech at a recent event.

    Bradford Richardson of The Hill:

O’Malley challenges DNC over ‘rigged’ debate schedule

Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley thinks the Democratic Party’s decision to limit the number of primary debates is tantamount to rigging the nomination process.

“Four debates and only four debates — we are told, not asked — before voters in our earliest states make their decision,” the presidential candidate said at the Democratic National Committee (DNC) Summer Meeting on Friday.

“This sort of rigged process has never been attempted before,” he added. “One debate in Iowa. That’s it. One debate in New Hampshire. That’s all we can afford.”

After O’Malley’s speech wrapped up, observers noted palpable tension as he greeted DNC Chair, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

Watch for the icy look she gives O’Malley in this video:

Or you can watch it in this tweet:

    It’s kind of like this…

By the way, O’Malley isn’t alone. Bernie Sanders is now complaining about debates too.

    From the Washington Post:

Democratic challengers launch attacks against Clinton, party leadership

“This sort of rigged process has never been attempted before,” said O’Malley, who has struggled to gain traction in the polls. He added: “We are the Democratic Party, not the undemocratic party.”

Sanders — who later told reporters he agreed with O’Malley — lamented low Democratic turnout in last year’s midterm elections and said the party must grow beyond “politics as usual” if it hopes to produce the level of voter enthusiasm required to retain the White House in 2016.

“We need a movement which takes on the economic and political establishment, not one which is part of that establishment,” said Sanders, who is an independent but caucuses with Democrats in the Senate.

    Pass the popcorn, please.

That’s progressive ‘democracy’ at it’s best:

The anointed ones, they know what’s better for everybody else. They’ll pick who runs against ‘eeeevil Republicans’. Then if they happen to win, because they know better, because they know what’s best for ALL of us, we better let them make all the choices.
And they will rule on that premise.

“This sort of rigged process…” OMG not that! Call the 911 EWarren Squad! Call NPR! Call Biden and the NLRB and Trumka! A franchise of independent thinking is running amuck!
