Fox News Most Trusted – Media Matters Hardest Hit

All that Soros money down the drain.

Back in December of 2013, Media Matters for America declared victory in its war on FOX News.

Unfortunately for MMFA, American news consumers disagree.

According to a new Quinnipiac poll, FOX News is doing just fine:

Fox News Has Most Trusted Coverage, Or Not, Quinnipiac University National Poll Finds; Tina Fey, Dennis Miller Top Choices To Replace Stewart

FOX News offers the most trusted network and cable news coverage, 29 percent of American voters say, when asked to compare the major TV news outlets in a Quinnipiac University National poll released today. But when network news is examined on a case-by-case basis, FOX drops in the ratings.

In the comparison rankings, CNN gets 22 percent, with NBC News and CBS News at 10 percent each, 8 percent for ABC News and 7 percent for MSNBC, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University Poll finds.

When asked, “Do you trust the journalistic coverage provided by FOX News,” 20 percent of U.S. voters say “a great deal” and 35 percent say “somewhat.” Scores for other networks are:

NBC News – 14 percent “a great deal” and 46 percent “somewhat;”
ABC News – 14 percent “a great deal” and 50 percent “somewhat;”
CBS News – 14 percent “a great deal” and 50 percent “somewhat;”
MSNBC – 11 percent “a great deal” and 41 percent “somewhat;”
CNN – 18 percent “a great deal” and 43 percent “somewhat.”

The big winner is local television news, trusted by 19 percent of voters “a great deal” and by 52 percent “somewhat.”

“FOX News may be the most trusted in the network and cable news race, but they all take a back seat to your local news,” said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll.

Bill O’Reilly made this the focus of his opening monologue last night.

He got some help from Charles Krauthammer who pointed out that the success of FOX News is built on the bias of the liberal mainstream media.

The MSM doesn’t like to be challenged.

    Too bad for them.

I wonder if local network news operates under the same ethical guidelines as local newspapers? If so, it might explain the discrepancy in trust. That, and there is no George Soros funding continual attacks on the local newspaper’s credibility.

Local newspapers have ethical requirements substantially higher than those of our national media, particularly with respect to slander. Local newspapers refuse to print anonymous accusations of criminal or unethical behavior, for example. This stands in marked contrast to the policy of the Washington Post, which regularly relies on anonymous quotes, and the New York Times, which is notorious for making up stories out of thin air.

So, Fox News has the largest group of dogmatic viewers, but fewer people trust it overall? That seems consistent with what its critics claim.

      Amazing denial. Excellent demonstration!

Denial of what, exactly? Which part do you think is false? That Fox News has a higher number of people who have very strong trust in it, or that Fox News has fewer people who have any trust in it at all? Both of these points are borne out by the data.

          MORE excellect demonstration, crawdaddy…!!!

“Dogmatic” has now been changed to “people who have very strong trust in it”.

          NOT the same, huh?

I’d say they’re fairly similar, but I don’t see how your semantic argument backs up your claim that I expressed denial of something in my original comment.

“He uses statistics as a drunken man uses lamp-posts… for support rather than illumination.” ― Andrew Lang

Behold the moving goalposts and psychic powers – he knows FOX viewers are dogmatic, sees right into their brains, and ideological bias becomes fact.

That seems consistent with what its critics claim.

It’s also consistent with the fact that many people are not intelligent enough to see through left-wing lies… which of course is what the Fifth Column media counts on.

MSNBC needs new branding to replace “Lean Forward”: “Look Up!”

I used to think the axis of evil in America was nbc,CBS & abc. Now I just need a new shape to put cnn and msnbc in there? Maybe the Pentagon of no trust ???
