Full 7th Circuit Appeals Court refuses to stop Wisconsin Voter I.D. law

Voter ID law in full effect for November, unless Supreme Court intervenes.

We previously reported how a panel of the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals restored Wisconsin’s Voter I.D. law for the November election.

The opponents of the law sought full “en banc” review by the entire Court of Appeals. That request was denied by a divided court (h/t Ann Althouse):

The full 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said Friday it will not rehear its decision allowing Wisconsin’s voter identification law to be implemented for the Nov. 4 election.

The court said in a seven-sentence order that it was equally divided on whether to take up a request to reconsider a Sept. 12 decision allowing for the law to go forward while it considers the merits of the case.

That means the 10-judge panel was one vote short of reconsidering the earlier decision, as requested by the American Civil Liberties Union and the Advancement Project. The groups argued that implementing voter ID so close to the election will create chaos at the polls, undermining election integrity and public confidence.

Opponents are evaluating whether to appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court, said Jeremy Rosen, an attorney with the National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty. That group joined the ACLU and the Advancement Project in challenging the law.

    Here’s the Order text:

Thanks for the smile today! Love it.

Gee, going down to a government office and filling out a form with your birth certificate. Sounds really complicated. Thank you for great news to start the weekend!

(/sarcasm) Well, you can’t very well take them that birth certificate if you don’t have it because you were born in Mexico, or somewhere in South America, now can you?

Just how are those poor (illegal) immigrants supposed to have a voice in the political process to represent their interests in continuing to live off the government teat. And those poor Union officials, who can’t convince enough of the population to support their Progressive Marxist-Leninist policies. How are they supposed to win without all those illegal and multiple votes?

      (/end sarcasm).

This is going to be great. The election will go off without a hitch. My guess is that there are places in Madison where it won’t be enforced unless there are Republican officials at EVERY polling station. I’d make sure that the polls are “well staffed” in order to make sure of it. Also, keep a running log of each and every individual who “attempts” to vote without the proper ID in order to show exactly how much illegal voting WAS going on.

It WILL be interesting to see the voting numbers from the Liberal strongholds. Lets see if they drop precipitously, or if the areas suddenly become a LOT more competitive.

Hmmm. Why would a group of political folks be so desperate to keep it easier to cheat at the ballot box? Gosh, it just doesn’t figure. Unless, of course, they intend to…. noooooooooo, they’d never do that.
