    Prisoner X updates

    Prisoner X updates

This is a follow up to yesterday’s post about Prisoner X.

I’m not sure there is much greater clarification of why he was imprisoned, but it’s clear he was not secretly imprisoned, as the Australian Embassy was informed, he had a lawyer, and the courts were aware.

But what he did is not known.  There is all sorts of wild speculation.

Hey, perhaps it’s The Spy Who Came In From The Cold scenario (which I read for the first time when I was a student in Moscow in 1980; now you know why I’m so paranoid cautious.)

I’m sure glad we live in America where we don’t have secret courts and indefinite detentions without trial…Oh wait…

I think Professor – you are wrong on this because that is what you want to believe. The world of Israeli influence is spinning out of orbit. They have lost another Anglo partner.

There is so much evolving on this story here . I have made a stab at presenting it eg in my earlier arguments with an Israeli poster who is conspicuously absent . I can’t as an ordinary person get the full picture but none of what I have posted is wrong .

I have outlined the long history of Israel supportby government here – the people are pretty neutral – Israel is not any particular problem in a predominantly Protestant society. However this is different & the feeling is that even if the Government did not care , his family did not care – we do.

It is illogical for us to go after the many potential insider enemies we have in an immigrant rich country & let Israel off the hook. What is the difference in sending out a son to be an Islamic Terrorist or a treasonous Mossad operative or a f*ckin Falon Gong?

Most interestingly Zyglier’s father is the CEO of The B’Nai Brith Anti – Defamation League. This often bully body is all for the despicable anti discrimination model that you yourself mocked on LI recently. BTW this at least got rid of the Attorney General who had to resign.

I would like to ask around but it is not a good time for the Jewish community in Australia. I personally think this is the end of the Zionist here. They had an excellent run.

Update for any still interested .

There was no consular request by the family for Zyglier for any assistance until …….tralaaaah – they needed to repatriate the body.

Officials are saying there was intelligence communicates but that can’t ever be verified obviously.

The Israeli lawyer is trying to walk back to it being just an ordinary charge that was being plea dealed.

So it leaves us with at best , a man that uses anti semitism based B’Nai Brith agency to attack free speech , yet lets His son die alone in an Israeli solitary high security cell.

But cheer up – he has a very handsome marble tombstone which has made it to the front pages.

    Look Ma top o’the world.

You know, last night I read about this and watched the videos here, and then I went and talked about it to DH. His take was that he just doesn’t see why anyone would want to be a spy because spies are, by the nature of their occupation, expandable. It’s not to make a moral judgment, but as a practical matter. I might be too romantic, but I imagine horrible things happen to spies all the time.
But if Prisoner X was in fact allowed legal representation and the Australians were notified, I don’t see what’s the fuss. Surely, there is always concerns about the facts when the facts of the matter are not allowed to come out, but I understand that there are legitimate reasons Israel might want to withhold them.

Australia learnt through their intelligence services – which were on a good footing – about the incarceration in February . They can’t just rush in & make demands in another nation’s intelligence operations.
      ,
However a few days later the botched Bahrain assassination came up which revealed Israel using Australian passports & all contacts were discontinued & diplomats expelled.

Hence there was no more communications until the family needed papers for the body. There is nothing Australia could do until the coronial cause of death was released quietly 2 years later.

In the meantime they have a nation to run ( sort of ) an election , a minority government & no one was pressing.

The implications are not international but unless BIBI turns up – you can say cordial relations are finished..

And the Melbourne Jewish community is in shock to be betrayed by Israel. I am sorry for them for them.

Their grief at Yankel Rosenbaum & now Zyglier brings back haunted memories.

Unfortunately – had he somehow escaped Israeli charges , he was about to be prosecuted for treason back in aUstralia – it has been suggested.

This would suggest suicide a possibility. Nowhere to go.
