Dewey returns to Detroit, can a conservative spring be far behind?

Dewey from Detroit went silent after Election Day 2012.

It was a sign of the approaching winter of our discontent, as many conservative blogs either went silent or went on life support with just enough posts to keep them breathing.

It hasn’t been easy keeping on keeping on, particularly as the Republican leadership let us down and proved itself most adept at taking punches without hitting back.

I’ve wondered when we would snap out of it.

Maybe this is a sign of hope.

Dewey has returned to the nearly dead City of Detroit, with a monster and wonderful post, Why Detroit Still Matters

Dewey says much of what needs to be said in photos, like this pairing (more here):

    Dewey from Detroit 1

And this rather astounding aerial shot:

If Dewey has returned to spread light on the tragedy and travesty that is Democratic Detroit, can our spring be far behind?

Thanks for the link Prof. I’ll do my part to round up the swallows.

And speaking of swallows, here’s another fun fact that could win you a few bar room bets: Detroit is the only city in the United States directly north of Canada; a fact I can attest to as I spent many years in my Detroit office gazing out the window, due south, across the river to Windsor, Ontario – the only city in Canada due south of the United States.

Also a fun fact to throw out the next time people are discussing the amount of fencing needed to secure our southern border.

True, dat. I remember reading that little factoid years ago and being slightly astounded that it was right. Never something I directly thought about, to be honest.

And my personal favorite–I used to live in Troy, right at the exit on I-75 exit 69: Big Beaver (hur hur hur) 🙂

Dewey, you’re bookmarked. I look forward to reading your work. I love Detroit; the city is so tragic now.

The urban dictionary . From 2005 – a nice city that is going down. Detriot would be a better city if we had a better mayor than that fat fuck Kwame Kilpatrickthat says he has got plans but doesn’t know his ass from a hole in the ground. The whole downtown area is pretty messed up with roadblocks everywhere. There are some nice areas like Pointe Grosse.

    Give that guy a prize.

This is what’s in store for Chicago… Sad, but true…!
