    V.P. Announcement Saturday, 9 a.m.

Romney will announce the Veep pick Saturday morning at 9 a.m.

    We’ll have coverage here.

The Weekly Standard is calling it for Paul Ryan, which means it’s either Paul Ryan or the Romney campaign ran a really good feint.

    NRO is reporting the same:

Take note, veep watchers: Earlier today, a charter plane took off in Boston, stopped in Chicago, then flew to the tiny airport in Janesville, Wis. Janesville, of course, is the hometown of Representative Paul Ryan, a top vice-presidential contender. According to a source on the ground, the plane is still in Wisconsin.

Tomorrow morning, Mitt Romney will visit the USS Wisconsin in Norfolk, Va. For what it’s worth, Ryan is scheduled to be on vacation in Colorado.

You can track unusual charter flights at FlightAware, a useful website.

Is it Ryan? We’ll find out soon enough.

Being this election is about winning, I think the only two candidates giving Romney a boost would be Rubio or Christie.

While I like Ryan, he’s not charismatic, not telegenic, and he’s not tough enough to resonate above the left’s ‘noise.’ Ryan is a cabinet choice, not a V.P. choice. He’ll just play to the base, which will not sufficiently offset Romney’s NOT playing to the base.

In terms of sheer intent to win: Christie is Romney’s man. Rubio, second.

Marco Rubio is the best choice. He is an electrifying speaker who will beat Biden in a one-on-one. Remember Florida? Ryan is a great cabinet choice and is too “vanilla”. Besides, we need him in the House as Speaker in place of Boehner. When we take back the Senate, McConnell must go. Even Scott Brown would be an improvement.

I disagree. I think Ryan is very likeable and attractive. Visually at least, the VP debate would play JFK vs. Nixon: nice-looking Catholic guy vs. goofy guy with hair plugs instead of stubble. Not that the VP debate sways anyone, but I think you underestimate Ryan’s appeal and he could well bring in more than the base.

Me, I’ve been crossing my fingers for Ryan from the beginning, so if the rumours turn out to be true then I will be a happy camper.

There is a whole cadre of excellent men and women on our side of the ticket. Paul Ryan would be a very good choice. He knows his bean counting and is not gutless and meandering like some I know. He knows what it means to be American and is not afraid to say so. I am so tired of Obamalaise.

Mitt’s surrogates, now all of us, need to pound the wack left with constant jabs and right-cross punches just like they portray our brother Allen West. David Axelrod you better cross your legs.

Since Ryan is a fan of Led Zeppelin, I’m sure that by 9:01 am the left will be spinning him as a monster who’s influenced by satanic messages
