There is no such thing as media bias

    Via Scott Whitlock at Newsbusters:

Over eight hours of broadcast time, Thursday, the network morning shows devoted a scant two minutes and 57 seconds to Wednesday’s shooting at the conservative Family Research Council (FRC). Good Morning America on ABC offered the most time, a still tiny two minutes and 22 seconds. But at least guest anchor Josh Elliott revealed key details about the alleged shooter’s possible motive, such as the fact that Floyd Corkins “was a volunteer at a local LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender] center.” CBS This Morning totally skipped the story.

ABC reporter Pierre Thomas added, “Sources say [Corkins] had items from fast food giant Chick-fil-A in his bag, but it was unclear whether Wednesday’s incident had any ties to the recent controversy on gay marriage.” Thomas then gratuitously noted, “The company’s owner recently set off a political firestorm, suggesting he opposed gay marriage.” (CEO Dan Cathy created a “firestorm” by simply giving his opinion on an issue? Wouldn’t it be fair to say that liberal groups whipped up the anger?)

The total amount of network time devoted to the story, thus far, is six minutes and four seconds.

“But Officer, is it really my fault that these right-wing extremist, bigoted, racist, homophobes kept running around and jumping in front of my bullets? I mean, with these weak wrists, what was I supposed to do?”

On KOMO AM 1000 this afternoon a guest (not a caller) was saying that the first amendment lets organizations like this and Dan Cathy spew whatever hateful bile they want, but it doesn’t protect them when someone decides to take matters into their own hands.

    ….

Well I guess the second amendment helps us in the that department. I just wish Websters would update the definition of “hate” to fully include the lefts definition so we could all be on the same page.

Christians have no rights in today’s America. Get used to it, folks. That’s how we started out. That’s how we’ll end.

Somebody asked me yesterday why I thought the shooter brought along 15 Chick-Fil-A sandwiches, since he hated the company so much. Why were the sandwiches important to him? “Death Cards,” I guessed. “If he had been successful and had time, he probably was going to pose his victims with sandwiches stuffed in their dead mouths.”
