Mourdock outraises Donnelly in 2Q, but still behind in cash on hand

I have previously highlighted Richard Mourdock’s attempt to close the cash gap with Democrat Joe Donnelly.

At one level Mourdock has been successful, outraising Donnelly in the 2d Quarter, but since he started behind by $800k and had to spend money on the primary, he still trails:

A half-million dollar cash advantage in Indiana’s U.S. Senate race now belongs to Democratic U.S. Rep. Joe Donnelly.

Though Republican state Treasurer Richard Mourdock raised more money than Donnelly in 2012’s second quarter, Donnelly closed the quarter with more money in his campaign’s bank account.

Mourdock raised $1.81 million between April 1 and June 30, and finished that period with $889,000 cash on hand. Donnelly, meanwhile, raised $900,000, but has $1.38 million cash on hand.

That lead is thanks largely to the May 8 primary in which Mourdock ousted six-term U.S.Sen. Richard Lugar – and spent some of the money he raised in the first portion of the quarter in the process.

You can donate to Mourdock here.

In the true Republican campaign spirit, Lugar will be giving some of his money to Murdock. Wait…what?

Done. Thanks for the reminder, Prof.

I really should keep my own list of people to donate to, I suppose, but I’m basically lazy, so I’ll use your list. ;-p
