    Maybe next time

    Maybe next time

    From reader W:

Following the bailout of the ACA by Chief Justice Roberts I came across this sticker (on the hood no less!) on my neighbor’s car in Greenwich, People’s Republic of Connecticut this morning.

I thought you and other LI readers would get a kick out of it.

Hasn’t the Chief opened a huge can of worms and vastly expanded taxing authority with this opinion?

    What a mess.

Thanks for making Legal Insurrection a great blog. It’s a daily read for me.

l like Scott Walker. l would prefer not to do that to him. After the present occupant , better a Constitutional amendment banning the office.

The design of the Founders is fine. Exquisite, in fact.

IF we do any amending, it needs to be to return the central government to its tracks…and cut it back down to its design specifications, so to speak, per the Founders.

        The document is fine.

We need to elect people who recognize it’s legitimacy and will be held bound by it.

Laws are only as good as the men applying them.

I prefer to put the power back in the hands of the people and that means getting Congress to start reducing the powers of the Imperial Presidency.

But devolving power from one branch to another is not the answer.

Pull it back out of DC. Pull it back out of your state capital, too. Bring it back where it belongs…as close to the people as possible.

I believe Walker made the comment that “R stands for reformer”, and he lived up to those words. I like and admire him. We need more politicians like him, Allen West, and Palin.

Allen West would be a dream-come-true as the VP candidate.

He tells it as it is and is unafraid of the liberal flak that might unfold.

Scott Walker should serve as a role model for the GOP. Get the people’s business done using good logic and unabashed tactics.

      Both are great human beings…

l was of course indulging in a bit of hyperboie. None the less ,the sentiment stands.

Not for nothing, but Congress’ power to tax was never less than it was after the decision was read.

They’ve always been creative after the 16th Amendment was passed.
