    • Aw, Greg Sargent At WaPo is upset (h/t gs in Tip Line) that Romney and Brown (supposedly) are taking Obama and Warren out of context (what he calls “lying”).  Would that be the same Greg Sargent I addressed in these posts?
    • These people are so infused with hatred it’s a wonder they don’t start beating women for no reason (original here)(added, key still shots from video):

That Jimmy Carter “Miss Me Yet” billboard near Dibol, TX says a lot more than just that billboard. This is on US59, deep in the heart of east Texas, which for over 150-years was pure yeller dog Dim’crat country. These were the people who adored Charlie Wilson and most assuredly supported Jimmy Carter.

The type of sentiment expressed on that billboard is real and heartfelt to these folks. People up in east Texas are lumber, oil and agriculture folks, and they’re as real as they come. Some would suggest that it’s a race thing against Obama, especially around nasty lil’ ol’ Dibol, but that’s both unfair and a gross oversimplification.

The Democratic Party of Charlie Wilson, Barbara Jordan and Wright Patman is dead, replaced with anti-American, anti-Christian, pro-abortion leftists. If you don’t believe me, drive through east Texas sometime. Stop in at the little family-owned cafes and ice houses along 59; don’t overdress or talk down. Slow down, order what’s good on y’alls menu, and spend some time visiting. They’ll tell ya what they think.

If you do have an occasion to drive up or down ‘fifty-nine,’ obey the speed limit and watch for sudden changes to speed limit signs as you near the towns, because highway fi’ty-nine has more designed speed traps than any other stretch of road in America.

[I’ve been known to take I-10 Houston to to Baton Rogue and hit I-55 to Memphis to avoid 59!]

Big mistake, TJS. You’ll miss the fresh yard eggs if you take I-10.

Your post sure brought back memories. I worked for an airline in Longview and then moved to Houston to work for another one. Put in a fair amount of time on that road.

Got stopped on 59 once, driving a four-cylinder Chrysler convertible…a true dog. When the trooper pulled me over I jumped out of the car, ran up to him and asked, “Do you have any idea how long it has taken me to get this car up to a speed where it would break the limit?!” He laughed, but I still got the ticket.

You know what fries me? They’ve logged off almost all the Big Thicket and left a narrow strip of trees near the road to cover the devastation. Yes, we need wood but do we need to clear-cut hundreds of acres to get it?

The world appears to be going nuts, bit by bit. I’m hiding out on the river. Let it go nuts without me.

Can’t let that “hope springs eternal” bit pass uncommented upon. When it comes to the CA official GOP I think a better quote would be “there’s one born every minute”.

Get back to Fast and Furious, Solyndra and the other scandals. These are national in scope. Yes it is important to “beat the drums” on Warren, but in the end, she is local.

Oh those wacky Egyptians! They’re so nutty with their antics! You mean they tricked their guests into thinking they were on an Israeli station? You never know how someone who follows the “religion of peace” is going to react these days, now do you? Har har!
