Results of Massachusetts Democratic Convention (Update: Dem Delegates knock DeFranco off ballot, hand nomination to Warren)

Results are trickling in. I’m having trouble finding any webpages with official results as of this moment, but the Twittersphere has reported that Elizabeth Warren received 95.77% of the vote.

If this is confirmed, Warren will have successfully secured the Democratic nomination and won’t be forced into a primary battle. Official results to come as soon as they are available.

WAJ UPDATE: It’s official, the delegates have deprived voters of a choice for the first time in history, and handed the nomination to Warren.

It will be interesting to see how DeFranco and her supporters react. Remember, this was a delegate vote not a popular vote with heavy pressure from the Gov. Deval Patrick, former Gov. Michael Dukakis, and other Democratic leaders to avoid a primary fight. They told the over 10,000 people who signed DeFranco’s nominating petition that they don’t get to vote in the primary election, and they deprived hundreds of thousands of other voters of a choice.

Now it’s on the Dem leadership as Warren’s drip-drip falsehoods about her family history and her personal narrative continue to play out.

Recall this e-mail I received in response to a prior post from Kevin Franck, Communications Director of the Mass Dem Party:

I’m kinda surprised by this line in your post that just went up:

As indicated in the video below, DeFranco would have to get 15% of the vote at the nominating convention on June 2 in order to make it to the ballot in September.

Three weeks ago, that prospect would have seemed dim.

Why would you think that here prospects of passing the 15% threshold were dim?

Please remember that ancient New Jersey Rule, which allows Democrats to replace a sure loser senatorial candidate with a likely winner candidate with the solid consent of a judge, that judge’s ruling approved at the highest level.

So, while Lizzy might not get to be an elected US Senator from Massachusetts, that’s undecided so far, it’s dollars to donuts there’ll be two Democrat senators from the Massachusetts’ Colony!

    Pity! Truly is!

The fix was in. What else is new? They are Democrats after all.

These two image files were just delivered to me via digital smoke signal from my agents inside the Indian Nations.

    And here:

    They’re still looking, too…

There is actually nothing democratic about the “Democratic” party, they did the same nonsense to Hillary in 2008, they took delegates she had actually earned, people voted, and Hillary earned those delegates, and they [the dnc] gave those 4 delegates to Barry.

It really should be called the undemocratic party, because that’s what it is. I’ve noticed the republican party seems to be more democratic than the “democratic” party; at least they don’t blatantly take votes one person’s earned and hand them over to another candidate who did not earn them.

and all you DNC trolls, I became an independent because of the crap you pulled in 2008.

I’m going to go donate to Scott Brown, Warren sounds like another dem hack. I don’t know who this defranco person is, but to not even have her on the ballot after she followed the rules, and when they were in the way of the DNC’s chosen one, they change the rules. All you Defranco supporters, do not vote for Warren! The dems are nothing but liars, they didn’t respect your one primary vote, what makes you think they’ll respect your vote for the general? You people have already seen how little Warren, the DNC thinks of you.

I also heard that the official song of the convention was Paul Revere and the Raiders singing “Indian Reservation.”
