This is what the Israelis are dealing with

This is what the Israelis are dealing with

The Israelis want to rebuilt a foot bridge called the Mugrabi bridge.  The original bridge collapsed in 2004, so the Israelis built a temporary bridge which now is unsafe.

Both Hamas and the Palestinian Authority are claiming that replacing the bridge is an attack on the al-Aksa mosque and will spark a religious war (as if there isn’t one already):

Hamas warned Monday that the Israeli closure of the Mugrabi Bridge is  tantamount to a “declaration of war” on Muslim holy sites. “This is a  serious step that shows the Zionist scheme of aggression against the  al-Aqsa mosque,” said Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhum in an interview with  AFP. “This is a violent act that amounts to a declaration of religious  war on the Muslim holy places in Jerusalem.”

Israeli officials closed the Mugrabi Bridge on Sunday for safety reasons, three days before the  municipality deadline to close the ramp leading from the Western Wall  plaza to the Temple Mount.

Barhum’s comments  followed remarks made by chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erakat last  week, when he said that the Israeli move “shows their determination to  judaize Jerusalem and to take over the city’s Muslim holy places.” …

The bridge has been the subject of contention because it is the only  entrance for non-Muslims who want to visit the Dome of the Rock. The  original earthen ramp collapsed during a snowstorm in 2004, and the  temporary bridge was built in its stead, meant to serve for a few months at most until a permanent bridge was built. Repair work on the bridge  in 2007 touched off widespread Muslim rioting in Jordan and Jerusalem  and calls for a third intifada.

Most people agree that the bridge is indeed dangerous to use, and that closing it is not a political move.

More fallout from Newt Gingrich’s insensitive comments, right?

I hereby propose this bridge be built entirely out of bacon.

Uh, to be built by the Israelis?

Of course not. We have Construction Companies that it can be outsourced to….

(pardon the mangled link, in the name of Humor)

Seriously though, it makes as much sense as any of the demands of the Party of Perpetual Outrage.

The problem is that the Mugrabi bridge is the only access to the Temple Mount for non-muslims. The Temple Mount is the most sacred holy place in Judaism and the observant now have no access. The Muslims have 10 other entrances to their Dome but the Jews/Christians had only one entrance to the Temple Mount and now no more.
“Israelity with Mark Kaplan” last Sunday had a video of the Muslim boys playing SOCCER on the grounds and wall of the Dome because one of their complaints was that rebuilding Mugrabi would damage the Dome. You know, all the religion of (anti)peace and (anti) tolerance could do to fix the situation would be to give non-Muslims one of the 10 entrances but no, evil has no rationale, no logic, no compassion.
According to history, in WWII General McArthur won the campaign in North Africa by dipping their bullets in pork lard and publicizing that Muslims would be shot with pig lard. Somebody in the IDF picked up on that and now the entrances and exits of city buses and transport vehicles are thoroughly swabbed with pork lard and the enemy knows it. That stopped suicide bombers from using city buses to blow up. Muslims believe that pig will keep them out of paradise when they die.

Wrong. The bacon shall be the planks, sausages will be the handrails, and various bone-in pork cuts for the frame and foundation.

yeah, you do realize that the Jewish do not eat pork either, right?

      Deuteronomy 14:8
And the swine, because it divides the hoof, yet chews not the cud, it is unclean unto you: you shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcass

This is an excellent example of the propaganda war Newt mentioned in the debate!

Newt looks stronger all the time. 😀

And if the bridge had collapsed and Palestinians were hurt/killed, it would have been a Zionist plot of genocide, Reuters would have dutifully waited for the Palestinian actors to strike their bloody poses, and the BDS Dancers would be boogying all night. It’s all called choreography.

At a Maccabiah Games not that long ago (early 2000s) athletes were injured & killed on a collapsed bridge as they were on their way to the Opening Ceremony .( or rehearsea – cannot quite recall ). The water was so polluted that many suffered years of hospital from major contamination . One young girl whose fate I was following lived in an induced coma on & off for years.

So Israeli bridges are not a joke. Avoid crossing any in a crowd.

The building of a foot bridge is a declaration of war. But, the launching of rockets into Israel on a continual basis is – what?

Gee, that must be a pitiful song played on the world’s smallest violin. Even if these muslims apologize for their war on Jewish holy sites, in Hebron and in Jerusalem (their wholesale excavation and destruction of ancient Jewish artifacts, is designed to try to eliminate the connection of the Jewish people to their Holy Land-again the acts of an invented people) and their attacks on the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem then it still wouldn’t excuse this insanity with respect to that bridge. The depth of insanity and depravity in pfakistinian muslims is approached only by socialist democrats.
