The tease on the homepage of The Hill for an article about Obama’s Christmas vacation dilemma reads:

The tax fight could force Obama to spend the holidays in an empty White House listening to Elvis’s “Blue Christmas.”…

The second I read that a scene from a movie came into my mind.  I won’t tell you, I’ll just wait to see if someone else has the same thought I do.

Well, since Blagojevich (convicted Governor of Illinois, but i repeat myself…) isn’t off to prison yet, he has time to come to the White House and perform a stirring rendition of Elvis’ Blue Chrismtas in hopes of getting a much needed (though unlikely to receive) Presidential Pardon. After all, what would President Obama gain by pardoning Blago? Blago has nothing left to offer.

Plus, he does an excellent Elvis impersonation! Check out that hair!

In Illinois we have term limits for Governors. One Term in office, one in prison. A very balanced approach!

The Year Without a Santa Claus? It sure sounds like a guy sitting around feeling sorry for himself because nobody “believes” in him!

I think what the Professor means is all alone in a big house … can’t seem to get any work done … slowly losing your mind …
