    Ying Ma visits Cornell

Ying Ma, a former president of the Cornell Review, has come back to campus for a visit. She’s definitely one of the better-known names with Review pedigree. (J.P. Freire & Ann Coulter are two other prominent Review alums.) She released a book last year, Chinese Girl in the Ghetto, and serves at the Hoover Institute, as well as the CFR.

Tonight she’ll be talking about Chinese state capitalism and I really can’t wait to discuss it further with her, particularly if she elaborates on what she said in this interview.  I’ll be sure to update with what she has said, since it is rare that I hear a coherent assessment of the Chinese economy.

Kathleen – Chinese ladies are not winning any beauty contests on Earth never mind being Miss Universe.

Perhaps if were to develop a Cat Scan that can predict if the female foetus would be attractive -it might halt the Short March to wipeout.

Of course if they continue to serially run over perfectly pretty little girls their chances are even less.
