“Occupy Wall Street is no longer a protest”

“Occupy Wall Street is no longer a protest”

So says a policeman speaking about the nightly violence and mayhem at Zuccotti Square and its surroundings, as quoted in The NY Post:

“Every single night it’s the same thing. I mean, some guy was a victim of  rape!” an officer snarls. “There comes a time when it’s over. This is a  disaster. It’s all we’re doing, every two seconds, is locking somebody up every  time. It’s done.

“It’s done,” he repeats. “Occupy Wall Street is no longer a protest.”

Scenes like this — and far worse — have been playing out since the Zuccotti  Park “occupation” began on Sept. 17.

The parcel is now a sliver of madness, rife with sex attacks, robberies and  vigilante justice.

And it’s not just in New York. Instapundit has a round-up of links to what America would look like, if we let it.

Update:  Reader Ben sends the link to this photo, proving OWS is not about the money:

As for the dollar, would they prefer electronic registers? How about gold (and ignore the unknown reserves which exist)? Maybe we should employ chickens and eggs to facilitate transactions. Perhaps they would prefer a strict barter exchange and the limitations intrinsic to that system.

A free society cannot exist without the conveyance and acceptance of a common moral knowledge. The existence of totalitarian policies should be reserved to hold individuals accountable who succumb to corruption or who choose to fail.

The debasement of the dollar is a symptom and not a cause of our crises.

As for “money is the root of all evils”, wake me when my beachfront property in Hawaii is prepared. Wake me when murder, rape, and other forms of involuntary exploitation are eradicated from this world. Wake me when there are no longer individuals who suffer from delusions of grandeur and act on their desire to control other people. It will not happen, and other than the first request, we are incapable of knowing why it will not.

That said, we do know factors which are causal contributors to progressive corruption of individuals and society. The principal factors contributed to the death of over 100 million people over a period of 1000 years (imperialism), and, most recently, the death of over 100 million people in less than 100 years (communism, socialism, fascism, etc.). It begins with a failure to properly assign dignity to human life, then continues with denigration of individual dignity and devaluation of human life.

Occupy will get crazier before it dissipates. But what will happen to the money? I’m curious to see how it will play out.

Follow the money. If you want to know ‘who is really behind the curtain’ in this OZ like Occupy Wall Street commune, then just identify the five people who control the $500,000 that has been donated to the organization. These are the people behind the scene.

I’m sure the Main Stream Media is hot on this story.
