Iranian Pastor Faces Execution for Refusing to Recant Christian Faith

    Fox News Reports:

An Iranian pastor who has refused to renounce his Christian faith faces execution as early as Wednesday after his sentence was upheld by an Iranian court.

Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani, who maintains he has never been a Muslim as an adult, has Islamic ancestry and therefore must recant his faith in Jesus Christ, the 11th branch of Iran’s Gilan Provincial Court ruled. Iran’s Supreme Court had ordered the trial court to determine whether Nadarkhani had been a Muslim prior to converting to Christianity.

Killing those who convert away from Islam is popular in many Muslim countries.  A Pew poll released last December found the following:

The Egyptian numbers are especially noteworthy, and something to watch out for in the near future.

The anti-death penalty crowd is going to go over and protest this, right?

Anything above the normal margin of stupid people in any culture/religion/social group of 5-10% is troubling.

What’s more troubling to me as that so many seem so surprised.

Oh and what’s Alec Baldwin have to say about this form of barbarism? Or Sean Penn? Or any of the other staunch proponents of liberty and justice who always have time to condemn Christians and/or America but don’t have the guts to tempt the Muslim Mob?

    Cowards and hypocrites all.

These were all still in existence in Europe about the same time as the first white settlers turned up in North Carolina.

They are part of our history also.

Not a case of moral equivalency but maybe they are still back there or we are in a Time Machine.

My hope is to have the faith and courage of a man like this, to face death for my beliefs.

Such a man of faith is a threat to a regime. He has the heart and courage of a saint.
