Dear Harry Reid, your bill will fail, your vote will be lost

Forty three Republican Senators have signed a letter telling Harry Reid not to bother with his bill (do not click on link until you consider bonus question below):

Forty-three GOP senators on Saturday signed a letter addressed to Senate Majority Harry Reid (D-Nev.) expressing opposition to his debt-ceiling legislation currently being considered in the upper chamber.

Their unified opposition to the bill leaves Democrats at least three votes short of the 60 needed to a clear cloture and virtually assures its defeat when it comes up for a vote tonight or tomorrow morning.

Bonus Question:  Which four Republican Senators did not sign the letter?  (wait 15 seconds, then you can click the link above)

I wonder if Reid had the class to say touché when he got the letter from House and had his bill voted down preemptively. tit for tat.

I did pretty good. I guessed the Bobbsey Twins and my senator, Brown. I always seem to forget about Murkowski though…

Could there be a clearer signal from the President that he is beginning to feel trapped and defensive on this issue right about now, than that he is now actually trying to claim that somehow it is our political system that is at fault?

In his mind, it couldn’t possibly be his failure of leadership, or the fact that the Democrats have persistently refused to control spending, now could it?

Damn Professor, I got three of the four. I didn’t even think of Murkowski, I chose McCain. Can I get a little extra credit for at least having the first letter of my wrong answer match up? LOL That way I can receive a grade of B. My wife frowns upon average – that’s why she married ME! ;-)))
