I would gladly suffer through a mini-Ice Age if it proved them all wrong:
What may be the science story of the century is breaking this evening, as heavyweight US solar physicists announce that the Sun appears to be headed into a lengthy spell of low activity, which could mean that the Earth – far from facing a global warming problem – is actually headed into a mini Ice Age.

Those Y2K shelters must getting awful crowded. Do they let you bring freeze dried food and gold?
Thanks, Prof!
Breaking news in the sense that the MSM is finally allowing it to be heralded. I've been following it for at least three years. The late Alan Sullivan (SeaBlogger) did his best to educate his rare readers.
At least now it's nice to not be considered "nuts" when I tell my co-workers about solar minimums and sun-spot cycles and another Ice Age.
While The Register is kinda sciency, for anyone really interested in the technicals I'd recommend Anthony Watts' Watts Up With That? blog for more on this issue.
.
And Tom Nelson's blog. He's the Instapundit of climate news.
What a preposterous theory. The lone source of heat and light in the solar system as the virtually exclusive driving force in global weather? Try again you teabagger racists.
