“Barack the Uniter” Didn’t Last Long

“Barack the Uniter” Didn’t Last Long

The appetizer from someone of enormous intellect:

“As president, Barack Obama would be a genuine uniter.”

Now on to the main course:

I noted yesterday, to the surprise of many readers, that Obama’s 60 Minutes appearance was his best yet, and that the bin Laden killing was Obama’s finest moment to date.

I even pointed out that Obama gave (some) credit to prior administrations, which is not his usual style.  He spoke nice words, with none of the (domestic) enemies-list verbiage which has been his stock in trade.

    That didn’t last long.

In a speech on immigration today, Obama lashed out at and mocked Republicans, saying Republicans wanted to build an alligator infested moat at the border:

“We have gone above and beyond what was requested by the very Republicans who said they supported broader reform as long as we got serious about enforcement,” Obama said. “But even though we’ve answered these concerns, I gotta say I suspect there are still going to be some who are trying to move the goal posts on us one more time.”

“Maybe they’ll need a moat,” Obama said mockingly to laughter from the crowd. “Maybe they’ll want alligators in the moat.”

I thought this Twitter reaction to the speech by Rory Cooper of The Heritage Foundation was appropriate:

As was this tweet from Tim Carney of The Washington Examiner:

I don’t know about you, but between the sleazy League of Women Voters ad against Scott Brown, and Obama’s alligator moat speech, I think I’m getting motivated again.

His comments are in keeping with Rep. Slaughter's belief (name ironic) that Freshmen GOP Reps ran for office to kill women.

I'm actually inclined to let this stuff slide. Save it for a good montage during the election cycle. Indys will see how absurd it is, and the big man can get lumped in with an overall trend of absurdity.

For some reason it appears TheWon's team hasn't informed him a) border fence hasn't been finished b) there are a lot of border patrol issues, deaths, murders, drug traffic ad naseum and c) Eric Holder is on hot seat for American deaths due to his departments shoddy "project gun runner" program or d) Feds and Arizona have an upcoming court date on this very issue (don't they?!)

naaaah, can't be he's misinformed on anything, right?

Oh, thank God! You had me worried that you actually believed a word this clown uttered. He's exactly who and what we know he is. Don't be fooled by his rhetoric when he sounds like he gets it. He doesn't. He never has. He never will. That is fact.

    A moat with alligators huh?
    Y'know, that's not such a bad idea…

A moat with alligators? As Steve Irwin himself would say, "Crikey that's a big crock!"
