Ann Althouse posted a video about Ronald Reagan’s criticism of the Berkeley protests in the 1960s, which includes this comment by Michael Rossman (at 1:22 of the clip):
“He won by pandering to a citizenry that is outraged by what these terrible insolent ungrateful children were doing on the campuses.”
Times have changed.
Republicans won in November 2010 by pandering to a citizenry that was outraged not at what the children were doing on campuses, but by what parents were doing in Washington, D.C.
(Bonus question: What sentence from Reagan’s speech appears to be the template for a famous line from the movie Animal House?)

Well it's official now after 45 years of self discovery:
The morally bankrupt generation is now financially bankrupt.
Like I've said many times at my blog, until the sixties generation dies off or retires we'll be beset with their childish and selfish mindset. The question is will we survive long enough to get rid of it, or will the second generation- trained by the sixties group- be worse?
All kidding aside is there a difference between Wisconsin and Berkley of the sixties? The people, by and large, as the same. Just older, slower and more intent on cash than principle.
