During the Rand Paul Senatorial campaign, there was much speculation about his positions – particularly because of the obvious connection he has with his father, Ron. Libertarians and conservatives were united in their skepticism of the Tea Party favorite – each camp criticizing him for being too far on the other side.
Bob Costa of National Review had a great interview with the new Senator, published today. I think Sen. Paul is going to prove himself to be as consistent as his father in terms of opposing spending. Though this means his foreign policy will be out of favor with many conservatives, I hope his other proposed budget cuts, taking federal dollars out of schools, and auditing of the Fed, can be beneficial to all Republicans.
