Mid-Term Message To Dems Returned “Mailer-Daemon”
Democratic Party leaders didn’t get the message of Virginia, New Jersey and Massachusetts.
There is no sign they received the message of November 2, either.
Nancy Pelosi, fresh off her victory celebration, is in no mood to compromise on keeping tax rates from going up:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) signaled Friday she is not softening her opposition to extending the Bush-era tax cuts for high income earners.
Asked whether she would accept even a temporary extension of all the cuts like some Democrats want, Pelosi said that it is time to let them expire for the upper income brackets and be extended for the middle class….
Pelosi’s comments indicate that Republicans and Democrats are headed for a stand-off on the tax cuts when Congress returns for its lame-duck session next week.
Obama also is backtracking on David Axelrod’s recognition of reality, although without Pelosi’s fervor:
President Barack Obama declared Friday that his “number one priority” is preserving tax cuts for the middle class, and sharply denied that comments by his senior adviser David Axelrod suggest that his administration is about to cave in to Republicans who also want to extend the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy.
“That is the wrong interpretation because I haven’t had a conversation with Democratic and Republican leaders,” Obama said …

oh gawd, I can't type, sorry about the grammar on my last post. I'm thmart!
I wish that our own guys had the same attitude towards compromise that the dems have. The Republicans seem to be tripping over themselves as soon as they get to Washington, trying to "reach across the aisle" and find "areas of agreement" and "working together" and whatnot. There is no place to start, as far as compromise goes, with the destruction of the nation. There is no middle-ground.

My favorite complaint is that the president just didn't have a chance to communicate fully with the American people…because, you know, once he was inaugurated you hardly saw him on tv, rarely heard him on the radio, and the various print media rarely wrote anything about him or put him on the cover.
Yeah. He was so busy accomplishing things for The Middle Class that he just forgot about messaging.
